Engage in FUN, HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES!
Students test out their space suit designs in the IMPACT TESTER
Students and families will have the opportunity to go around to stations and participate in interactive demonstrations and lessons that get the students engaged in science, technology, engineering and math disciplines (in a FUN way!).
ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Wind Turbines --> creating and testing your own - How to generate electricity from wind!
- Robotics Demos --> with Northeastern's Robotics Club!
- Future Cities Expo --> Designing and Building Cities of Tomorrow!
- NSTAR Energy Activities --> Magic Light Show and a Better Land gameshow!
- Maker-Fair Demos --> some of the coolest home-made technologies around!
- Quilt Drawings and Tesselations - Exploring Shapes and Colors!
- Impact Tester --> Imagine being an Astronaut! Help design their Space Suits!
- Paper Towers --> Build the tallest skyscraper you can using ONLY newspapers!
- Biomechanics --> Explore how your hands and arms work - muscles and bones!
- Paper Rockets --> Build & launch a paper rocket up to 100 feet! Powered by YOU!
- Whirlygigs --> Explore how to make a helicopter and how it's used in nature!
- Blind Drawing --> See if you can help your partner draw a simple picture - blindfolded!
